Turkey has moved more than 450 military vehicles to the North-Western part of Syria. They came from the neighboring province of Hatay, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR).

According to SOHR, the convoy consisted of armored vehicles and heavy weapons. It is noted that the arrival of reinforcements occurred a day after the airstrike of the Russian air force in Idlib province.

According to the telegram channel “Military observer”, on August 18, Russian su-24M bombers launched a series of strikes on militant targets in the North of the region. Local media claimed that the Russian air force hit the positions of the banned terrorist organization “Hayat Tahrir al-sham”.

Earlier it was reported that an explosion occurred on the route of a Russian-Turkish military patrol in Idlib province. The Russian military was not injured.

In early March, Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan agreed on a ceasefire in Idlib. The parties agreed on an additional Protocol, under the terms of which all fighting on the line of contact in Idlib will stop and a so-called security corridor will be created along the M4 highway passing through Idlib.
