Trump’s former chief strategist was arrested for fraud

Former chief strategist of US President Donald trump Steve Bannon has been arrested on suspicion of fraud. This is reported by Reuters.

In particular, we are talking about deceiving Internet users by raising funds for the project “We are building a wall” on the border with Mexico. Fox News reports that more than $ 25 million was raised in this way. The indictment alleges that Bannon withdrew about a million dollars through a nonprofit organization, spending the money including on personal expenses. It is reported that he faces up to 20 years in prison.

It is also known that the FBI has proof of Bannon’s criminal connections with the fugitive Chinese billionaire Guo Wengui.

Bannon served as senior adviser to the President of the United States, as well as chief strategist of the White house from January 20 to August 18, 2017. He is a graduate of Harvard University, worked at Goldman Sachs, and then worked on documentaries. After leaving the administration, he headed the far-right news resource Breitbart News. Critics accuse Bannon of making the site a haven for Nazis, anti-Semites and radical right-wing activists.
